General Guidelines
While this guild does not promote the most respectful character personalities, all guild members are expected to act with a certain degree of respect and dignity. Remember that in character, as well as out of character, all members are creating and maintaining a guild reputation.
If you have any issues whatsoever with guild regulations, guild members or otherwise, you are welcome to contact any of the officers and your problem will be dealt with accordingly.
Please also see the application guidelines before you apply.
Roleplaying
This is an RP-based guild, and thus all players are expected to RP at least a minimum amount. An RP introduction is part of the application process, to ensure that there is a reason for your character being within Shindu Belore.
Attending all RP events is not mandatory and members are not expected to RP at all times. However it is expected that members do not express out of character outbursts that may ruin the face the guild is attempting to put forwards. Just because you say it is out of character, does not mean that it will not reflect badly on the guild in the server's RP community.
All characters are expected to be congruent with established guild storylines and official Blizzard lore. Guidelines will be posted on the message board, and staff members will be around to help make sure your character is appropriate.
Characters are to be original characters only. You may take cues from other works of fiction, but you cannot copy a character wholecloth from another work. If you are found to be doing so, your application will not be considered, or you will be asked to modify your character or be removed from the guild.
Character names are expected to be RP-suitable, and follow with the same rule as above. As well, while you may use a name used in another work, the guild asks that you refrain from applying with characters who have particularly recognizable fictional names (for example: applications with name variants of Drizzt, Legolas, Sephiroth and etcetera will automatically be declined.)
We ask that all significant plotlines be discussed out of character before they are put into motion. Significant plotlines are anything that will substantially effect the guild or a large portion of its players. Personal character development requires no approval, but anything you might possibly deem questionable should be run by guild officers first. The benefit of this being that it may be possible to involve more players, and develop the story into something more profound.
Please also use respect when wishing to involve other people's characters in your plot or fiction, and discuss things with them out of character before enacting the storyline progression. The guild will not hold as truth something that all parties are not comfortable with, and depending on the nature of the liberties taken, some consequences may apply.
Shindu Belore does not permit god-moding or metagaming. Speak to an officer if you are not entirely clear of what these terms mean.
Out of Character
Generally, all guild members are expected to be respectful of other guild members, as well as other players, while interacting out of character.
There are no official guidelines for out of character conversation, and no language restrictions. We do however ask that you be respectful of requests to stop speaking on sensitive subjects. Failure to do so can be considered harassment and will be dealt with accordingly.
On that note, harassment of other players, especially fellow guild members will not be tolerated. Depending on the offense, members caught harassing other guild members may be demoted, kicked temporarily, or permanently from the guild.
Player vs Player
Members are encouraged but not required to take part in guild pvp events. Similarly they are not required by the guild to pvp at any time.
While we understand that this guild is on an RP-PvP server, guild members may choose to pvp or not pvp as per their preference.
In this light we ask that guild members be respectful of other members' pvp preferences.
Members are also not required to aid other members in pvp situations, though it is an encouraged practice.
Members are asked to refrain from greifing or corpse camping other players.
Player vs Environment
We ask that players follow traditional loot rules. Any player found ninja looting will be dealt with accordingly.
While we do encourage guild members to help other guild members, please keep in mind that no guild member is entitled to another guild members' help. On this note, begging for help to other guild members is not permitted. You are welcome to ask for help, but please be respectful in the fact that other guild members may have other things to do.
Multiple Characters
Shindu Belore welcomes multiple characters played by the same player under a few First, each player is allowed no more than five characters in the guild at one time. Secondly, while it is not strictly enforced, we expect that players will only take on a number of characters that they can keep active at one time. Also, all characters will require an in character RP introduction, as if they were new applicants. Keep in mind however, that new players will have preference over alt introductions.
Inactivity and Leaving the Guild
To keep the guild roster relatively clean, inactive members will be kicked from the guild after one month of inactivity. If a player becomes active within three months, or provides adequate reasoning for their inactivity before leaving, they will be re-invited into the guild without question. If a player is inactive for three months without a previously stated reason, they will have to re-apply upon their return to the game.
Returning to the guild after gquitting will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
